Jadon Sancho remains without a club after Krasnodar rejected the chance to bring the England international to Russia on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old was reportedly offered to Krasnodar as he continues his search for a new destination following the expiry of his Manchester United contract. According to Foot Mercato, the Russian club declined the proposal, with discussions failing to progress beyond the preliminary stage.
Sancho was reportedly open to the possibility of moving to Russia, but Krasnodar ultimately decided against pursuing the deal. The development leaves the winger still searching for a club after an increasingly uncertain period in his career.
Another Setback for Sancho

The situation is particularly notable given Krasnodar’s position in Russian football. The club won the Russian Premier League title in 2025 and are currently leading the 2026/27 campaign, making their decision not to pursue Sancho another setback for a player once regarded as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.
Sancho’s latest situation follows a difficult spell at Aston Villa during the 2025/26 season. He spent the campaign on loan from Manchester United, making 39 competitive appearances and recording one goal and three assists. His only goal came in the Europa League, a competition Villa ultimately won.
The winger subsequently became a free agent when Manchester United confirmed his departure following the expiry of his contract in June 2026. United had signed him from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for a reported £73 million.
From Dortmund Stardom to an Uncertain Future

Sancho’s current situation represents a significant change from the trajectory he established earlier in his career.
He developed at Watford before joining Manchester City’s academy at 14. After leaving City in 2017 without making a senior appearance, the teenager moved to Borussia Dortmund, where he quickly developed into one of European football’s leading young attackers.
Between 2017 and 2021, Sancho made 137 competitive appearances for Dortmund, scoring 50 goals and providing 64 assists. He won the German Super Cup and DFB-Pokal before returning to England with Manchester United.
His time at Old Trafford, however, never reached the heights expected after his expensive transfer. Sancho made 83 appearances for United, scoring 12 goals and winning the 2023 League Cup, while loan spells at Dortmund and Chelsea followed.
Now, after an underwhelming season at Villa and another failed move, Sancho faces a fresh period of uncertainty as he looks for the next chapter of his career.
