Hull City Winger Sorba Thomas Unharmed After Car Crash

Wales international involved in incident close to Hull City's training ground

Hull City winger Sorba Thomas has been involved in a car crash close to the club’s training ground, although the Wales international has escaped the incident without injury.

The accident reportedly occurred on Friday morning at Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham, near Hull City’s training base in East Yorkshire.

Images from the scene showed a grey Land Rover Defender lying on its roof, with several of its windows broken following the crash.

Emergency services attended the scene, while local police urged members of the public to avoid the area as the response continued.

Despite the severity of the damage visible on the vehicle, Thomas was able to walk away from the accident without suffering any injuries.

The incident comes only days after the winger completed his move to Hull City, making the timing of the crash particularly concerning for the Championship club and its supporters.

Thomas is a 27-year-old winger who was born in London and represents Wales at international level.

He completed his move to Hull City from Stoke City on September 1, joining the Tigers in a deal reportedly worth up to £8 million.

The winger signed a four-year contract at the MKM Stadium, committing his future to the club as Hull look to build a competitive squad for the new Championship campaign.

Hull confirm player’s safety

Hull City moved quickly to reassure supporters after images of the damaged vehicle began circulating on social media.

In a statement, the club said it was “relieved” to learn that Thomas was safe following the incident.

The club added: “The club is aware of images of Sorba’s car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed.”

The confirmation will come as a major relief to Hull supporters, particularly given the extent of the damage shown in photographs from the scene.

For Thomas, the immediate priority will be his wellbeing following the frightening incident. The circumstances surrounding the crash are expected to be assessed by the relevant authorities, while emergency services dealt with the aftermath.

Thomas had only recently begun a new chapter with Hull following his move from Stoke City, but the accident has temporarily shifted attention away from football and towards his personal safety.

Fortunately for the player, what could have been a far more serious incident ended without injury.

Hull will now hope Thomas can put the frightening experience behind him and return his attention to football once he is ready.
