Dominik Szoboszlai has reached an agreement with Liverpool over a new five-year contract, committing his future to the club until June 2031.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder has already given his verbal consent following months of negotiations between Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes and his representatives.
Szoboszlai, who still had two years left on his current deal, had previously expressed concerns over the lack of progress in renewal talks during last season. Despite this, he remained Liverpool’s standout performer in a challenging campaign under Arne Slot further underlining his importance to the team.
Since joining from RB Leipzig for £60 million in 2023, Szoboszlai has developed into a central figure at Anfield. The Hungary captain scored 13 goals last season and has been widely tipped as a future club captain, making his contract extension a major boost ahead of a new era under new head coach Andoni Iraola.
