Atalanta’s Ederson signs new five year deal at the club following failed move to Manchester United

‎Brazil midfielder Ederson has signed a contract extension with Atalanta following the collapse of his proposed move to Manchester United.‎‎

According to reports, Manchester United had agreed a £35 million fee for the 27-year-old on June 2, with plans in place for a medical in early July. However, the move was delayed after Ederson received a late call-up to Brazil’s World Cup squad due to an injury to Wesley, disrupting the transfer timeline.‎‎

After Brazil’s last-16 exit to Norway, Ederson travelled to England to complete further medical tests, having initially raised concerns during preliminary checks in the United States. ‎‎

Medical specialist evaluations ultimately led to United withdrawing from the deal, with sources dismissing any chances of a revival later in the transfer window.‎‎

With the transfer now definitively off, Ederson has committed his future to Atalanta by signing a new deal that will keep him at the Serie A club until 2031.‎
