Manchester United’s proposed move for Atalanta midfielder Ederson has reportedly collapsed after the Brazilian failed to fully satisfy medical requirements, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio.
Per British outlet Mirror, concerns over a knee issue prompted United to pull back from the deal, despite an agreement already in place worth £35million plus £4million in add-ons.
While Atalanta maintain the player is fully fit, United opted against taking the risk. The club has since shifted focus to alternative midfield options, with Chelsea’s Andrey Santos emerging as one. Understand that the deal is already sealed after United agreed to pay £48 million for the 22 year old Brazilian.
Ederson(27) recently took part in his first ever World Cup with the Brazilian national team, thanks to a late call-up to the squad as an emergency replacement for the injured Wesley. He went on to make just two appearances, both coming off the bench for the Seleção.
