John Stones‎ Reach Verbal Agreement with Inter Milan

Inter Milan are on the verge of completing the signing of John Stones after the defender reached a verbal agreement to join the Serie A giants.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan moved into pole position as of Monday in the race to secure the England international.

Formal steps are now expected to follow as both parties work toward finalizing the transfer.‎It is understood that Inter have already proposed a contract that will keep Stones at the club until June 2028.

Interest in Stones was widespread, with Juventus also monitoring the situation, alongside Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea.‎

Despite the competition, Inter Milan emerged as the player’s preferred destination, giving them a decisive edge in negotiations.

Stones joined Manchester City on August 9, 2016, from Everton for a fee of £47.5 million, signing a six-year at the Etihad. ‎Over the course of a decade at the club, he developed into one of the most reliable defenders in English football, contributing significantly to City’s domestic and European successes.‎

‎John Stones’ contract at Manchester City officially expired on June 30, 2026, bringing an end to his 10-year spell with the club.
