Chelsea are preparing to sell Alejandro Garnacho, with Italian side AS Roma emerging as a strong contender for his signature as they look to strengthen their attack.
According to Italian reports, Roma are only willing to sign Garnacho on an initial loan deal without an obligation to buy, while Chelsea are insisting on a permanent transfer to recover their investment.
The Argentine winger is also open to leaving Stamford Bridge with negotiations currently complicated due to the differing transfer terms.
Roma have intensified their search for attacking reinforcements after the collapse of a move for Mason Greenwood. Sporting director Tony D’Amico is exploring multiple options to provide manager Gian Piero Gasperini with the firepower needed for next season, especially with the club targeting a strong return to UEFA Champions League football next season. Dan Ndoye is also being monitored as an alternative attacking option.
Chelsea signed Garnacho in August 2025 for over £40 million on a long-term deal running until 2032. However, he has struggled to consistently meet expectations in West London, prompting the club to consider a sale as they look to reshape their squad.
